Tapping into hard maple trees in his own back yard, John Byington was first instructed how to gather sap from maple trees nine years ago by his neighbor Robert Dickens.

Robert said he started working on homemade maple syrup for a pancake feed the community put on years back.

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

secured his trip to Salina this weekend before the competition for placing at Regionals. While competing for placing Saturday evening, Epperson in the championship round wrestled against Pittsburg wrestler, Levi Kester. Kester scored 12 points over Epperson and won by decision.
