By JESSE SECREST The Lady Blu-Jays crossed the state line last Friday night and played on the road for the first time this season. They wasted no time making themselves at home in Miami’s gym, jumping out to an early 12-0 lead over the Lady Eagles. In fact, the Lady Eagles committed 10 turnovers before they scored their first field goal. Pleasanton finished the quarter on an 11-0 run and led 23-2. Those 23 points were enough to win the game as the Lady Blu-Jays held the Lady Eagles to only 16 points on the night. Pleasanton’s aggressive full-court pressure forced 16 Miami first-quarter turnovers, 10 of which were steals. Karesa Lewis led the Lady Blu-Jays with 15 points, and Sydney Dent joined her in double figures with 10.
