Saturdays are great days for relaxing, but for five Pleasanton Police Explorers and several law enforcement officers, Saturday was the day for them to receive training in crime scene investigation, personal protection, searching a building and making a vehicle stop.

Pleasanton Police Chief Shawn Walker explained about the eight hours of training: "The Pleasanton Police Department is looking forward to providing more training in the future like this. Our end goal would be to have training offered every month for any officer/deputy in the county. As budgets are getting tighter, we need a way to keep training an ongoing item for law enforcement in our county. We also want to share that rich knowledge that we have here in the county, as well as pulling others in to teach or learn."
