Workers with Saker Towing of Fort Scott were diligent in their efforts to recover this vehicle that was completely submerged in the Marais des Cygne Wildlife Area along Highway 69 north of Pleasanton on Friday, March 22. The driver, Melissa West, La Cygne, hit an icy spot Thursday evening, March 21, when she lost control, went through the fencing on the east side of the northbound lanes and came to a stop in the water. She was able to get out of the vehicle to safety.
