The drizzling and chilly temperature could not dampen the enthusiasm shown by approximately 120 children as they made their way through stations and exhibits at the annual Jayhawk-Linn FFA Ag Awareness Day last week.
"Each year, all Linn County fourth graders are invited to this event for a hands-on approach to farm life and agribusiness," said J-L FFA advisor, Bill Johnston. Whether the students were waiting in line to ride a horse or trying to hold a chicken, there was plenty to see and to do. There was agriculture-related equipment on site for them to climb into as the group leader provided them with information on how the piece is used. The groups of students made their way from barns to sheds to the various exhibits.
