The City of Linn Valley held a special council meeting last Thursday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m., to open the bids received for the Low Pressure Sewer System Improvements Project. All bids which were opened met the requirements for pre-bid attendance, addendum #1, and included a bid bond. SKW estimated a base bid of $2,776,570.00, an Add Alt #1 of $52,780.00, and an Add Alt #2 of $88,450.00, bringing their total estimate to $2,917,800.00.
Phil Burns, SKW employee, said, “Trinity Excavating and Construction offered the lowest bid, so we’re speaking with them now.” Regarding the initial cost estimates for the project provided through SKW, Burns said, “The unit prices that we used were based upon numbers that we received from equipment manufacturers, estimates, and also from historical project data and from cost estimating guides.”Want to read more?
