• New statue coming to Mound City

  • Over 50 local growers visited the farm of Kurt and Paula Schwarz on Thursday, Aug. 14 to listen to Southeast Kansas Crops and Soil Specialist Doug Shoup, a free event sponsored by Ag Risk Solutions. Shoup shared insight on the agronomic conditions farmers are seeing this year in their corn crops and diseases or deficiencies to be looking for in the future. Attendees also had a chance to tour a test plot with 46 varieties of corn from nine seed companies.

  • Linn County Rodeo again a stop for the Kansas Championship Rodeo Series

  • The Corvette Club of Kansas City stopped to visit the Linn County Museum in Pleasanton on Aug. 16. The Corvette Club of Kansas City has approximately 190 members who frequently go on day road trips. This past Saturday, 15-20 club members made the trip down to Fort Scott to see the fort and ride the trolley before they headed up to Linn County to see the museum.
