Hoping to shed more light on the commissioners’ wishes to add an armed officer at each school district, Sheriff Barry Walker asked Commander of the Special Response Team (SRT) Deputy Russ Gardner to address what the active-shooter team is designed to do versus the SRT.

Gardner said, "It came up a couple of weeks ago, the question about the active-shooter policy, and whether we have a response to it in place."
