Tuesday, May 7, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to begin a resurfacing project on 6 miles of U.S. 69 in Linn County. The project area begins north of K-52 and continues north to Linn Valley.

Project activity includes placing ultrathin bonded asphalt on the driving lanes. Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the work zone with a reduced speed limit. Weather permitting, the road work should be finished by late June.

KDOT awarded Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc., of Topeka the construction contract of $1.9 million. Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.kandrive.gov, for more highway condition and construction details. Persons with questions may contact Construction Manager Ian Stringham at (785) 433-6116 or Public Affairs Manager Priscilla Petersen at (620) 902-6433.
